Co-production

“Having the information about SDS and encouragement from other people who have a similar outlook helped us look at how we could develop our services. Before, that felt difficult and frightening, especially for members. It turned out to be (mostly) positive and the main thing was that we felt in control.”

Co-production is when people who use services, or people from a local community, work alongside professionals to plan and then to deliver the service together. This means that professionals and non-professionals share the power to plan and deliver support. Co-production recognises that both professionals and non-professionals have important skills they can contribute to improve the quality of life for people and their communities.
